The Night Sky is a quarterly essay written by one of MIRA's senior astronomers, Dr. Whitney Shane. The piece highlights seasonal objects such as planets, meteor showers, and galaxies, that are easy to find and satisfying to observe. Dr. Shane also uses the essay to focus on a small piece of astronomy's history, which serves as the main subject. Each essay is included in the MIRA newsletter, but is offered here as a separate work.
