Leonid Meteors Shower Chews Ridge

On the morning of November 18, 2001 the Central Coast was treated to an outstanding meteor shower as the Earth passed through a clump of Leonid Meteoroids. Observers on the penninsula counted over 2000 per hour while the darker skies of Chews Ridge permitted several times that to be observed.
