For the past two and a half years, Monica has been a important component of MIRA’s operation, serving as devoted office assistant, Newsletter contributor, active Friends of MIRA Steering Committee member, and keeper of the Friends of MIRA membership files.

She has served as Secretary and Vice-President of MIRA’s amateur arm, the Astronomical Society of the Central Coast, where she took charge of most of the Society’s correspondence, and was especially active in organizing and attending star parties. Despite a busy professional and volunteer schedule, Monica could always be counted on to turn out for star parties for schools, youth organizations and the general public.
